b Taunton, Som 1871, d Taunton 1925. Born into a musical family with a long Taunton pedigree, he qualified as FRCO, ARCM, and LMus. From 1888 to 1897 he was organist of Holy Trinity Ch Taunton, followed by a similar post at St Mary Magdalene’s from 1897 onwards. He composed several marches and other music which has often been recorded, and one hymn-tune featured in a few books only. No.88.
