b Cheltenham, Glos 1932. Teacher of music at Lancing Coll, Sussex; he was appointed Musical Editor of the 1965 Anglican Hymn Book which contains 7 of his tunes and several arrangements. Later he edited the less traditional Scripture Union collection Songs of Worship in 1980 and worked with the Music in Worship Foundation. He has written and spoken widely on church music. No.506*.
