b Greenwich, SE London 1940. Colfe’s Grammar Sch, Lewisham; Manchester Univ (BSc Botany); Clare Coll and Ridley Hall Cambridge (MA Theol). Ordained (CofE) 1965, serving curacies in London, then vicar in Leicester from 1973 and Isleworth, Middx (W London), from 1984. He retired to Southampton in 2005. An organist; co-editor of Youth Praise (1966, 1969) which included some of his tunes; and a member of the continuing group which produced Psalm Praise (1973) and became Jubilate Hymns. 6 tunes or arrangements are in the 1975 Keswick Praise. He was Music Editor, Hymns for Today’s Church (7 hymn tunes and several arrangements), and co-edited other Jubilate collections. Nos.116, 173*, 410, 451=756, 525, 516*.
