O Christ, you are the builder

O Christ, you are the builder
and we are living stones
designed to be your dwelling
and bring you praise alone.
May we, the church you founded
to serve you here on earth,
be guided by your Spirit
who brought our faith to birth.

2. For now we are your body
with you our head and Lord.
our love by you awakened,
our unity restored.
May peace from God the Father
be ours for all to see,
because you died to save us
and rose to set us free.

3. O Christ, it is your purpose
to take us as your bride.
and then we shall be like you,
unstained and purified.
Your feast will soon be ready
and everything be new:
prepare us too, Lord Jesus,
to reign in heaven with you.
