Out of the darkness of the night

Out of the darkness of the night
Jesus called me.
Into the radiance of his light
Jesus brought me,
giving my life a brand new start,
changing my cold and stubborn heart.
Now I am his adopted child,
rescued, ransomed, reconciled!

Wonderful, glorious day!
Jesus saved me,
washing my sins all away.
He will keep changing and changing me
till that day, when in heaven I stand,
perfect in him.

2   Out of a life of guilt and sin
Jesus called me.
Into a life that honours him
Jesus brought me,
choosing this sinner for his own,
making this humble heart his home.
Now I am his, I’m justified—
purchased, pardoned, purified!

3   No greater sacrifice was made:
Jesus made it.
No greater debt was ever paid:
Jesus paid it.
No greater love, no greater grace;
bearing the cross, he took my place.
Now I’m forgiven, now I’m free,
all because he died for me.
