b Middlesbrough, N Yorks 1956. A chartered civil engineer who is employed as a director by his local council; also a member of Browning Avenue Baptist Ch in Hartlepool (Grace Baptist). He composed some 30 songs with Malcolm MacGregor (see Author index under MM and J Benton) at Accrington, 1980–1999, primarily for local church use. Several of these have been published in Evangelicals Now from 1993 onwards; he also provides occasional reviews and feature articles, news items etc, for this monthly paper. Nos.601, 879.
