The story behind the hymn
Following two majestic hymns come 3 songs in a lighter style; this anonymous ‘gathering’ piece is often sung in canon. It became popular from Fresh Sounds (1978) and onwards. The 4 stzs printed here are very simple but have a clear sequence of NT expressions of praise. The repeated invitation to ‘come into his presence’ needs to be balanced by the truths of 609. David Wilson’s arrangement of the tune SINGING HALLELUJAH came in the Song section of HTC.
