From the heights of glory
- 1079
From the heights of glory to a humble birth,
the Lord of heaven came down to earth.
And the greatest story that is known to man
in a stable room began.
What a gift, what a gift we are given;
sacrifice of the Father for us.
What a gift, what a gift we are given;
King of kings, Lord of lords, Jesus!
2. From a humble stable to a world of shame,
the friend of sinners, who calls my name
brought the love of heaven to the hearts of men
and gave lives hope again.
What a gift
3. From a life so perfect to a cruel cross,
the world’s redemption, the Father’s loss;
and the nails were driven and the blood flowed free
in the hands outstretched for me.
What a gift
4. From the grave he’s risen, ever glorified,
to take his place at the Father’s side;
and the greatest glory will be ours to own,
when he comes to take us home.
What a gift
What a hope, what a hope we are given;
sacrifice of the Father for us.
What a song to proclaim: He is risen!
King of kings, Lord of lords, Jesus!
King of kings, Lord of lords, Jesus!
