Great Lord and God, we greet this day
of light and joy, of love and life;
we honour this, your hallowed way,
that makes a couple man and wife.
2. We come as family and friends
to bless your servants standing here.
Pour out the gifts that love intends,
and prove your grace from year to year.
3. In promise made and love declared
their vows unite them in your sight;
give strength and hope in purpose shared,
and tenderness, and love’s delight.
4. Great Lord of all our love and praise,
our way, our end, our lifelong quest:
walk with your children all their days
and bring them to your promised rest.
