Mighty, magnificent God

Mighty, magnificent God,
author of life, King of creation;
mountains and valleys rejoice,
oceans resound in celebration.
The heavens declare your glory,
the earth sings out your praise,
and nature, in its beauty,
your handiwork displays.

You are the power that rules the sea,
you reign for ever in majesty,
you are the one who will always be
mighty, magnificent God,

mighty, magnificent God.

2 Mighty, magnificent God,
all you have made speaks of your greatness.
Once there was nothing at all;
over the earth, all was in darkness.
But in your sovereign power
and at your word’s command,
the whole earth was established
by your Creator’s hand.

You are the power…

3 Mighty, magnificent God,
maker of all, Lord of all nations,
one day earth’s people will come,
bringing their praise, in adoration;
acknowledging your glory,
the wonders of your hand,
until creation’s story
is heard in every land.

You are the power…
Bridge:
High above all in your sovereignty,
Lord of the earth and the sky and sea,
of all that is and is to be;
yet you reach down to humanity–
O, how amazing that you should be
a Father and a Friend to me!

You are the power that rules the sea,
you reign for ever in majesty,
you are the one who will always be
mighty, magnificent God,
mighty, magnificent God.

You are the power that rules the sea,
you are the love that embraces me;
O, what a glorious mystery:
mighty, magnificent God,
mighty, magnificent God.
