See the cross of Calvary

See the cross of calvary,
where the Saviour dies for me;
where this sinner should have been,
a sinless King stands in.
Innocent of any shame,
willingly he takes the blame;
full of mercy, full of grace,
Jesus in my place.

Chorus:
It’s all because of Calvary,
all because you died for me.
Hallelujah! Thank you for the cross.
It’s all because of Calvary
I’m forgiven, I am free.
Hallelujah! Thank you for the cross.

2. From his hands, his feet, his side,
streaming in compassion’s tide,
flows the blood that paid the price
in perfect sacrifice.
It’s the blood that breaks the chains,
washes clean my guilty stains.
Such a grace is only found
on this holy ground.
It’s all because of Calvary…

3. ‘It is finished,’ hear him cry;
mocking crowds are satisfied.
Take him from the cross and lay
his body in the grave—
but he’s conquered death and sin,
there is no defeating him!
He is raised to life again,
sovereign King of heaven!
It’s all because of Calvary…
Amazing love, amazing grace
clothes me now in righteousness.
Hallelujah! Thank you for the cross.
Amazing Lord, amazing Son,
King of glory, risen one.
Hallelujah! Thank you for the cross.
Hallelujah! Thank you for the cross.
