There is a song within my heart

There is a song within my heart,
a source of joy for all my days;
a song that always lifts my voice
to sing the Father’s praise.
And even when my strength is frail
and there are burdens I must bear,
my heart’s resource will never fail;
the song is always there.

This is the Father’s song,
written on my heart,
given from the heavens,
this is the Father’s song
that plays for me.
2. There is a song within my heart,
that keeps me safe from any harm,
a song that lifts my spirit up
to rise above the storm.
And even when the doubts creep in
that heaven will hear such humble prayer,
my heart’s resource will never dim;
the song is always there.

This is the Father’s song,
written on my heart,
given from the heavens,
this is the Father’s song
that plays for me.
3. And so the song within my heart,
this gift of grace, will always be
a song that breathes in every beat
the Father’s love for me.
It is my courage and my strength
until my earthly days are done;
it is my comfort and my joy
until he calls me home.

Then I shall sing his praise,
joining those above,
worshipping in glory,
singing for endless days
the Father’s song,
for endless days
the Father’s song.
