Who is there like you
and who else would give their life for me,
even suffering in my place?
And who could repay you?
All of creation looks to you
and you provide for all you have made.
So I’m lifting up my hands,
lifting up my voice,
lifting up your name
and in your grace I rest,
for your love has come to me
and set me free.
And I’m trusting in your word,
trusting in your cross,
trusting in your blood
and all your faithfulness,
for your power at work in me
is changing me.

Tune
-
Who is there like you Composer: - Oakley, Paul
The story behind the hymn
Paul Oakley’s songs were heard increasingly at Spring Harvest in the 1990s; his one item in this book was written and composed in 1995 (tune name, WHO IS THERE LIKE YOU). It became a late entry for MP in 1999 and was recorded on the SH New Songs Album for that year. Although the ‘you’ of the opening line is not named, lines 3 and 14–15 make clear his identity, and among Scripture hints are Exodus 15:11, Psalms 28:2, 104:27 and 116:12.
